Apps Icon | Hide Apps Icon in Google chrome

Google chrome web browser is been updated from time to time. With new features added to the new update. The last update now has Apps icon bookmarked on the quick bookmark bar just below the url bar on Google chrome. It is located just at the extreme left area of the bookmark section.

 

The Apps icon in Google chrome give user a quick access to all apps installed in Google chrome with just a click on the Apps icon. By default when a user clicks on this icon you get to see list of apps like.

  • Web Store.
  • Google Docs.
  • Gmail.
  • Google Drive.
  • YouTube.
  • Google Slides.
  • Google Sheets.

This are already installed apps that came with Google chrome web browser. You can access them on this app section at any time. Not very users really love this icon but there are ways you can remove or hide the Apps icon and make your bookmark bar has it old looks with the Apps icon.

Hide Apps Icon on bookmark bar in Google chrome

Hiding any icon in Google chrome I very much possible. Because of the built-in features that enables user to hide icons that they don’t want to see. This is a way of ensuring easy and clean navigation around this web browser.

  1. Run Google chrome web browser on you PC by clicking on the icon.
  2. Right click on the Bookmark bar. There is no specific place to click on just click anywhere around the bookmark bar.
  3. Unmark the settings that says Show Apps Shortcut on the drop down menu.

 

This way you have successfully hide the Apps icon on your Bookmark bar. You can always undo this process in order to restore and unhide this icon at any time. Users that really want to hide this features can get it done with the above steps.
